We would like to introduce Eric King, Agent/Owner of the Eric King Agency. Eric decided to
bring his years of insurance experience to the MEEMIC Family when he returned to Michigan (from Houston, Texas) in January of 2018 after surviving the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.
Eric comes from a family of educators – his father (Gilbert Myron Hill) was a teacher/admissions
counselor at Lansing Community College where he retired in November of 2014. Mr. Hill passed
away in January of 2016. Eric’s mother (Dr. Lovalerie King) taught at Emory University,
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, U-Mass-Boston and Penn State University. With his
parents as examples, Eric ultimately chose to attend Eastern Michigan University, where he
received his B.S. (Minors in Science, Social Science, and Diversity Issues), and carved out his
own career as an educator.

After years of teaching, Eric decided he wanted to impact education differently; opening an
insurance agency with Horace Mann. By successfully transitioning from serving and meeting the
needs of students, to serving and meeting the financial needs of educators, Eric developed into a
dedicated and compassionate insurance specialist, ensuring exceptional and efficient service for
all clients. Eric’s ability to build strong, meaningful relationships allowed him to grow his
agency in unprecedented ways.

The Eric King Agency is about more than selling insurance, it is about asset protection
and fostering relationships. The nearly 70 years that MEEMIC has spent protecting

educational employees and their families is a perfect coupling with Eric’s relationship-
based, client-centered business model.
